FEBRUARY Red Wine & Chocolate on February 14 - 16, 2009 The natural affinity between dark chocolate and red wine is no secret. The Red Wine and Chocolate event weekend in the Yakima Valley provides a distinctive and elegant offering of fine chocolate and fine wine. Visit the more than 52 wineries in the Yakima Valley Wine country during this Presidents’ Day weekend. Each winery pairs sumptuous chocolate desserts with their very own remarkable red wines. Purchase your “Reserve Ticket” and enjoy exclusive benefits available only during this event weekend. “Reserve Ticket” holders will be able to experience a variety of specialty Red Wine and Chocolate pairings, library tastings, and tours not available to the public. APRIL Spring Barrel Tasting on April 24 - 26, 2009 Seth Ryan Winery will celebrate 20 years of Yakima Valley’s Spring Barrel Tasting Events. We will release one new wine, the last of the red wines made under the tutelage of the original partner, Ron. We will have sales on the 2004 Syrah for $15 a bottle and the 2001 Chardonnay for $9 a bottle. Ticket holders will receive an additional 5% discount on all case sales, as well as free samples of the Reserve Chardonnay Ice Wine. The barrel sample will be 2008 Sunset Surprise, a new blend from Sunset Properties of Syrah, Nebbiolo, and Tempranillo made by Ron’s son Kirk. This will be the first of a new style of red wine the winery will be making in future productions. As an added treat, music will be provided by Steve Haberman and Company all three days. A lunch will be served from 11 to 4 of pulled pork and black cherry BBQ plate for $10 each. Picnic areas will be set up weather permitting for all to enjoy a relaxing break from the day’s tasting. On-line Pass sales will be discontinued April 21, 2009. Passes are non-refundable, but can be transferred to another Wine Yakima Valley event. Farewell to Seth Ryan on September 4 - 7, 2009 Seth Ryan winery will close its doors on September 28 following Catch the Crush. So in bidding adieu we are hosting a celebration during this long weekend. Don't miss the great deals and a fabulous good time. The winery will be open 11 am to 4 pm all four days.
Catch the Crush on September 26 & 27, 2009 (These are 2008 details. Stay tuned for 2009 update) Seth Ryan has something for everyone. For the adventuresome, trek out to our 17 acres of vineyards to watch the pickers, as they demonstrate their skill of gathering clean, leaf free fruit that is on its way to the hopper for de-stemming. Visit the crush pad to sample the grapes and catch a taste of free run juice, as it heads to the tanks for fermentation. Crush pad will be set up and tours will be conducted even if the grapes are not available. All our red wine (except reserve) is on sale for $10 per bottle - don't miss out! In addition to wine tasting, Steve Haberman and Mary Lou Gnoza will be on hand for a live music performance on Saturday. Don't miss our huge red wine sale - $10 per bottle.
